The Battlefield series has delivered great team-based multiplayer battle for many years and Battlefield 1943 is the latest scion in the series. It is a download-only game on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. It is not only well designed but also well engineered.Battlefield 1943 takes the players back to WW-II. This game is offering endless hours of 24 player’s action over the three locations: Wake Island, Iwo Jima and Guadalcanal with a fourth one i.e. Coral Sea added when players hit 43 million total kills. One can see lots of fences, trees, telephone poles etc. all around the island. The buildings and structures are mostly destructible.

One can get to any point of any map in a couple of minutes. There is a variety of vehicles ranges vehicles ranges from a small jeep to a powerful tank, a bomb-filled airplane , a water-skimming boat and much more . The gunfights are numerous and quick. With only three soldier classes, the game wins in capturing the thrill of the multiplayer shooters through its well-balanced and exciting game play.

There are a maximum of 24 players per map, Due to the coloured flags over the head, enemies and friends are clearly defined and there is no team-killing so don’t worry while firing. The weapon models used in the game look good enough and their firing feels right, but the result of that firing is not perfect. During the playing of game, the points are accumulated for kills, captures, kill assists and destroying vehicles and points deducted for suicides. The Battlefield 1943 also has Microsoft’s standard 200 Xbox Live Achievement points, as well as in game achievements points which is not an easy task to acquire.

There are gun positions which are fixed around all the three maps that are very powerful. Mounted machine guns cuts down any infantry and there is also one particular bunker on each map where one can summon an air raid. Fighter planes are the trickiest vehicle to control but can make very effective bombing.

In short, the game has some voice chat problems, lingering issues, limited options for weapons, limited number of maps, issues in balancing the team on the PS3 and graphical oddities on the Xbox 360 makes it unattractive but despite these issues and considering the price tag, Battlefield 1943 is a good game on different levels. It delivers a well-balanced World War II with its first class sound and visuals.
